This is a real espresso machine

After having problems with my previous dual boiler machine (two faults within 2 years of purchase) I wanted a machine that would last for at least 10 years. The reviews published online helped me choose Rancilio Silvia. So far I am making good espressos, although I am still learning to adjust the grind for a great shot. My first goes with the milk frothing weren’t good but persistence and checking the many videos available has enabled me to lift my game.

The manual nature of Ranclio enables me greater flexibility and the ability to experiment more than I could with the Breville. The videos also alerted me to the need to ensure that I don’t fry the water heater. So I follow the process religiously.

When my wife tells me that I have the milk blended with the coffee to her taste I’ll be a happy man. Still a ways to go!
